The Greatness of His Heart

Easter weekend is one of my favorite weekends.  We are to celebrate the Resurrection of the One who was holier that all other.  He was the Son of God, the Hope of Isreal, the Messiah, and our eternal Savior.  He was Jesus Christ.  As I look back to think about all the wonderful holiday's we celebrate this is one of my favorites.  Looking past the beautiful colors, smells, and the cool breeze of spring, it is a time to look deeper into what our God has given us.  The greatness of his heart to come, live, and walk the walk of not popular edifices, but love, respect, obedience and sacrifice.  He bleed at every pore for you and for me.  He hung on the cross while the suffocation whipsed out of his breath to conquer the trial of life.

Jesus said;

  "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)

He overcame death so that we might be lifted up as He did to be judged from our works, according to the desires of our hearts.  As we follow his example by baptism and repenting to the end we will have eternal salvation, happiness, and life.  I pray as you consider to follow his example, remember how he prayed unto the father (Nephi 19), read through the scriptures (Luke 4:21), and gave unto His disciples bread and water (Matt 26:26), you will do as he said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments."

Choose This Day

From the static, windy, world we live in today it is hard to know or understand what the Lord would have us do.  He is our light and life and by following him we can and will find the peace in this life.

Jesus Said; "I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."

We make Choices everyday whether we follow Christ or not.  I can promise you when you follow His example life will work out.  We will be blessed.  I invite all to "Choose" the Lord in all thy ways, in all thy doing, and by showing Him you will keep the commandments by entering into the waters of Baptism.

Will you ponder and pray

about what that means to

you? Ask God to give you

comfort and help you

through your trials.

Follow Thou Me

If you haven't gotten a chance to visit Ohio yet, I've got news for you: Your not missing too much! But if you've ever lived in Ohio; you know that football is the most popular sport. When I was in high school I enjoyed playing. Our school had a tradition of running the offense the exact same way it had been for decades. We ran the ball almost every play. That is just how the tradition was. And it worked well. Very well. But one year we decided to not follow the program. We switched  to a spread formation, which is a passing offense. It only took 3 games for us to realize that we couldn't pass the ball around as well as we thought we could. We missed the playoffs that year, which could've been avoided if we had just followed years of success. 

Christ is our perfect example in the flesh for us to follow. He was the Only Begotten Son of God. The attributes He inherited from His Father were amazing. He had power over death. He performed miracles upon miracles. He was baptized. He suffered and died on the cross. He rose on the third day. He didn't do it just to prove He could accomplish it. He did it for US. 

The Savior's doctirne is clear for all of us: And he said unto the children of men: ^aFollow thou me. Wherefore, my beloved brethren, can we ^bfollow Jesus save we shall be willing to keep the commandments of the Father? (2 Nephi 31:10).

Jesus Christ was the greatest leader I've ever known. But He also was more than that. He was a follower as well. In the book of John, Jesus describes who's errand He was on. It was His Father's will that He sought for in all things. Everything Christ did was under the direction of the will of Heavenly Father. So what does that mean for us? Well have you ever heard the phrase "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"? If you haven't, you've never been to Ohio. Sometimes we feel like we don't have to come to church, or read our scriptures, or help others. Others feel like they need to be perfect now; like we can't ever make a mistake. No one is perfect. Everyone has done something wrong. We don't need to find our own way to heaven. Come to church. Do what is right. Be baptized by someone comissioned of Jesus Christ. It is only through Christ that we can be saved. Don't try to be perfect; only strive to be perfected by the One who lived the only perfect life. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Hello World,

     I have the unique opportunity today to post an addition to Elder Wright's Blog.  We are on exchanges today and tomorrow, and it is time to learn from a great missionary example.  I just walked in, sat down, and he said, "Type!"  So this is what seems to be coming out, apparently.  I have no idea who will see this and who is even looking.  I have no bearing on the whole blogging thing.  I won't even get to see any feedback or responses or numbers of those who read it.  So I guess I'd better think before I post.  In like manner, we have no idea what affect we have on those around us.  We have no idea who is watching.  Sometimes I think I know who's watching, or that I'll know when it matters who's observing me, but I've learned on the mission that everything we say and do is seen and heard.  I know that we have a far reaching affect on those around us.  Whether we are missionaries with a name badge and a tie, or just a kid in school who comes and goes without saying a word.  People are watching.  We can't choose what people think, but we Can choose our actions.  We may not want to draw attention to ourselves, impossible as a missionary, but once we understand that people are watching, we can choose to be what we'd want others to see.  I'd encourage anyone who may read this live as though you're on camera.  You can choose to "be an example of the believers."  I know as a missionary that many things I do have farther reaching affects than I can ever know.  Just like posting this random blog will be sent out to unknown eyes and destinations, so too do the things we say and do end up in the ears, eyes and hearts of God's children.  I hope I can live so that I could watch the video of my life and not worry who's watching.  I hope I can improve my time while in this life.  I hope when people speak of Elder Brady Anderson, they remember that I was a representative of Christ, in word and deed.  My mom always told me growing up that Integrity means stopping at a red light and waiting, even in the middle of the night when no one is around to see.  Well I know that even if no one actually sees you do what's right, people can feel a person of integrity, by the way the live when people Are watching.  And in the end, of course God is always watching.  He knows the intents of our hearts and the things we do when we "think no one can see."  It permeates our whole being and blesses those around us as we strive to live a Christlike life.  In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Leaving something behind

Bringing it to Santa Rosa this week has been a growing oppertunitty and something new to look forward to.  I will most certainly miss Ukiah not only because of the people and wonderful ward members but because of my companion Elder Spenlove.  He helped me build my confidence and to really take a look at the people and feel inside who they really are.

 As I was leaving Ukiah California I was pondering inside the window of our moving van about all the wonderful experiences I had serving in Ukiah, and the thought crossed my mind; Did I do all I could do for my Heavenly Father in this area?  Did I use all my talents, efforts and strength?  Indeed, there were times I could have worked harder, prayed with more faith, and used my talents and abillities more.  But for the round of all things I believe I did my best.  Another thought entered my mind with great force were the faces of all the people I had worked with.  Each of their images and love are imprinted into my soul forever.  I not only taught them about the gospel, but they taught me about love, and why love is the most important attribute to have.  I am thankful for each and every experience I have had in Ukiah whether good or bad, I learned.

Although we are not perfect we all need to take the second look and see how our Heavenly Father understands and loves each and everyone one of us. The Lord has his "Way" and no other, He will help us if we put our trust in him to overcome our weaknesses and perform the labor in which he has instore for each of us.  As I was studying this morning I came across a scripture in 1 Nephi 10:18-19 in the Book of Mormon, it says;

" . . the way is prepared for all men . . .  if it so be that they repent and come unto him.
"For he that diligently seeketh shall find; and the mysteries of God shall be unfolded unto them, by the power of the Holy Ghost . ."
Take His truth and apply it to your own life.  Use Christ's Attonement in your own life.  Believe in Christ.

Secrets to His Servants the Prophets

What is a prophet?

  I believe many people are turned away when told about "prophets" because of the doubt and trouble in times past with so called "prophets".  Jesus teaches us about prophets, he said;

"By their fruits ye may know them."  Which simply is to say, look at the good works or "fruit" that comes from a living prophet. 

Amos (a prophet in the Old Testament) teaches us that God gives us "His secrets."

"Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secrets unto his servants the prophets."
Has God always called prophets?  The answer is yes.   From the creation of Adam, up to the time of our very own day.  What! we have Latter-day prophets?   Yes. Just as in times of old God calls prophets.

 For example Moses (being a prophet) brought the children of Israel out of bondage or slavery from a very wicked nation.  In a real sense, our day many people are in bondage and have many challenges which take them away from life's most precious moments.  How many families are broken because of drug abuse, violence, harassment or ignorance?  How many thousands of Heavenly Fathers children are hurt because of wickedness and "slavery"?
Our latter-day prophets receive guidance from Heavenly Father to help us come out of slavery and bondage.

The world changes and we can't do this on our own.  We need help and direction. "When there is to be anything different from that which the Lord has told us already, He will reveal it to His prophet and no one else."  Harold B. Lee

Prophets also Testify of the Savior and His ministry, just as John the baptist taught his people.  Watch this video of modern witnesses of latter-day prophets.

I know prophets are real, they do communicate with Heavenly Father through his Holy Spirit.  I know you can know this is true, because there is evidence that Heavenly Father has given us.

We must serve with all our heart, might, mind and strength.  We must serve our fellow beings as we would serve our family.  When we are in the service of our fellow beings, we are in the service of our God. (Mosiah 3:19)I know we need to spend our time wisely while we are here on this earth, we must "prepare to meet God".  Time is very short, and I can testify because the my time keeps going by faster and faster while serving the Lord.
